Meet the Owner

Shelagh Bolger is a Frederick native with over 15 years of experience in event planning and design, prop styling, and creative direction. Her career has taken her from producing large-scale events across the country to designing sets and styling campaigns for national brands. Throughout her work, she has developed an appreciation for thoughtful details, beautiful objects, and creating spaces that bring people together.

Inspired by a lifelong love of entertaining, collecting antiques, and setting the table for family gatherings, Shelagh founded A Proper Table to share her love of timeless design and meaningful hospitality. She hopes that when you stop by the shop, you feel excited and inspired to create beauty in your own home. She can’t wait to meet you in the store, and help pull together a tablescape that feels exactly you!
